We’re excited to continue Shelter Cat Behavior & Welfare for a second semester at Viginia Tech. This hands-on course gives students the opportunity to work directly with cats from animal shelters while learning about feline behavior, enrichment, and welfare in a dedicated housing environment.

Cats participating in the program live in our campus cattery, where students gain practical experience while providing enrichment, socialization, and care that helps prepare the cats for adoption. The cattery also hosts adoption events, creating a welcoming space for members of the community to meet the cats and learn more about fostering and adoption.

The program continues to provide a distinctive experiential learning opportunity for Virginia Tech students. University courses that integrate shelter cats into hands-on education in this way remain relatively uncommon, and we're proud to contribute to a growing emphasis on feline-focused education, behavior, and welfare.

Photos and updates will be shared below as they are available.
