Allison Allen

M.S. Student
  • Gastrointestinal Physiology

My name is Allison Allen, and I am from Louisa, Virginia where I grew up showing livestock - especially swine. This early involvement sparked a passion for animal agriculture that led me to pursue a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech. During my time as an undergraduate student, I had the privilege of working at the Virginia Tech Swine Center and in industry internships that strengthened my interest in swine and encouraged me to continue in this field.

After graduating in May of 2026, I transitioned into the role of Swine Unit Manager for the School of Animal Sciences where I have the pleasure of overseeing our daily operations. Alongside this position, I am pursuing graduate studies under the guidance of Dr. Gerrard, with research centered around gastrointestinal and nutritional physiology of swine.
