I grew up in Goochland, Virginia and earned my undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech in 2026 as a third generation Hokie. My love of animals and agriculture started with my grandfather and our family farm where we raise cattle. As an undergraduate I worked in Dr. Ealy's lab as well as Dr. Gerrard's lab. This grew my love for research especially in molecular biology, which I am now studying as a Ph.D. student in Dr. Gerrard's lab. I am currently looking at how genetics can affect myogenesis and how muscle fibers are affected postmortem.
