I am a USDA-NIFA Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Alan Ealy’s laboratory. I grew up in northwest Tennessee on a small cow-calf operation, which sparked my early interest in livestock production and reproductive biology. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Bioscience and my master’s degree in Animal Science, specializing in reproductive physiology, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I completed my Ph.D. in Animal Science at Virginia Tech with an emphasis in reproductive biology.
My research focuses on pregnancy loss in beef and dairy cattle, with an emphasis on embryo–uterine interactions during early pregnancy. I am particularly interested in how the developing embryo communicates with and responds to the uterine environment to support embryonic disc formation and placental development in bovine embryos. Through this work, I aim to generate biologically informed insights that improve reproductive efficiency and reduce early pregnancy loss in cattle production systems.
