SAS Student Ambassador Program

The 2023-2024 Student Ambassador Team as a group doing "VT" with their hands in the lobby of Litton-Reaves Hall.

What does an ambassador do?

Ut Prosim is more than our university’s motto to our student ambassadors, they live it daily. They welcome prospective students and their families, answer questions, provide tours, and represent the School of Animal Sciences at university events. Our ambassadors are an essential component of our outreach mission.

The School of Animal Sciences  student ambassadors are part of a leadership development program focused on recruiting future APSC AND DASC majors. The ambassador program is open to all APSC & DASC majors  with a minimum 2.5 GPA who will have finished at least one semester at VT by the application deadline and have at least one full academic year remaining.

In this program you will provide animal facility  tours to our prospective students, meet with alumni and community groups, write cards to prospective and incoming students, help with admissions events /open houses, and discuss the program with prospective students and their families. Requirements include training meetings (usually every other week) and a few weekends and/or early evening commitments including one VT Open House Weekend per semester.
