The Lee-Maurer research concentrates on the ecology of antimicrobial resistance in poultry production and microbe-microbe/host microbe interactions that promote animal health and pathogen exclusion. The group has also focused on the molecular epidemiology of veterinary and zoonotic bacterial pathogens, with emphasis on understanding pathogen transmission within poultry production systems.
