Abbey Collier
- Reproductive Physiology
I am originally from Richmond, VA and moved to Blacksburg in 2019 and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Animal and Poultry Science in 2023. I graduated pre-veterinary and plan to attend veterinary school within the next few years. I have been heavily involved with the equine units on campus; I've participated in the volunteer program since 2019, and got involved with the Equine Reproduction club in 2021 which I have now, as Vice President, helped re-vamp into VT's new Collegiate Horseman's Association!
I grew up riding horses and stuck with my interest in the species in college which helped me discover an interest in reproductive physiology and technologies. I also have a new found interest in exotic animal medicine and currently work at the Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic in Roanoke as a veterinary assistant. As a graduate student, I am currently GTA for the APSC Introduction Laboratory and I am working on gaining further research experience in Dr. Ealy's lab and general animal science knowledge as I head toward my goal in veterinary science!
