Con-Ning Yen grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech in 2017. She is currently a fifth year Ph.D. Candidate and studying in the field of muscle biology under Dr. David Gerrard. Her research is primarily composed of understanding the role of the mitochondria in skeletal muscle during animal growth and development. Con-Ning aims to contribute to the muscle biology field in order to further the knowledge of muscle development to improve lean accretion in livestock species.
