Ph.D. Student

I grew up locally here in Southwest Virginia. I worked for two different companies prior to starting work on my PhD in 2021. My advisor is Dr. Erica Feuerbacher. I started riding as a child and as I became more involved with horses, it seemed that they often had a variety of lameness or pain related problems. Because of this, I’m interested in equine pain behavior. My current project is investigating how the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria affects horse behavior. Borrelia burgdorferi, commonly called Lyme disease, is a tick-borne infection that affects many species including dogs, horses, and humans.
