Samantha Vitek

Samantha Vitek grew up in Mount Airy, MD. During her teenage years, she had multiple experiences with poultry and companion animals through internships, research, and jobs. She earned her B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech in 2023. Samantha is currently doing research in Dr. Leonie Jacobs lab pertaining to pre-slaughter welfare of broilers and environmental enrichment interaction of broilers. Samantha hopes to help improve the welfare of commercial broilers, leading to a healthier life, and better profitability for the poultry industry.
