Shihong Yang

I graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) School of Animal Science, with a bachelor in veterinary medicine. And I am currently a Ph.D. Student in James Chen's Lab in the School of Animal Sciences at Virginia Tech.

I am pursuing research into precision livestock farming and animal breeding through data-driven and machine learning approaches. Especially in an era where many successful applications of machine learning have revolutionized our lives, I believe that the discipline of animal sciences will also increasingly focus on data science and artificial intelligence, in which I am highly interested.
