My name is Camila Ezepha Coelho Leite, and I am originally from Brazil. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2024. During my undergraduate studies, I had the privilege of working with Dr. Walter Lilenbaum and Dr. Maria Isabel Di Azevedo on research focused on Animal Leptospirosis, particularly Bovine Genital Leptospirosis, for four years. This opportunity allowed me to develop strong skills in molecular biology and genetics while gaining valuable research experience in both laboratory and field contexts.

Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. at Virginia Tech under the guidance of Dr. Fernando Biase. My doctoral research aims to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive fertility and the early stages of embryo development and implantation in mammals. Through this work, I hope to contribute to advancing reproductive biology knowledge and provide insights that can ultimately improve animal reproduction and welfare.
