Delaney Groves

Non-thesis M.S. Student

My name is Delaney Groves and I am from Boones Mill, Virginia, which is about an hour away from Virginia Tech. I completed my B.S. at Virginia Tech in Animal and Poultry Sciences with an emphasis in Equine. During my time as an undergraduate, I was a competitor for the VT Western Riding Team and held officer positions for the VT Clay Target Team, Equine Reproduction Club, and the Ducks Unlimited Chapter at Virginia Tech.

I am now continuing my master's degree under Dr. Persia in Poultry Nutrition. As an undergraduate, I worked in his lab and just recently presented my project findings at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia. This project looked at using Saponins as a feed additive and how it affected laying hens under the stress of coccidiosis. My upcoming project is looking at direct-fed microbial's effect on broilers exposed to coccidiosis with used litter.
