John McGehee

M.S. Student

I am John McGehee, and I am originally from Okeechobee, Florida. I grew up in 4-H and FFA and, through my various livestock projects, I realized I enjoyed working with animals. I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian to pursue this passion. I came to Virginia Tech to get a degree in Dairy Science and attend the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

I am currently finishing up my MS program with Dr. Rebecca Cockrum. I am interested in cattle reproduction. My current project focuses on improving pregnancy in dairy cattle by using dexamethasone to reduce the antisperm antibodies in cattle that are considered repeat breeders.
