Reagan Vaughan

Ph.D. Student

Reagan grew up in Virginia Beach, VA on a Hereford cow/calf operation. She earned her B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences in from Virginia Tech in 2023. During her undergraduate education, she became involved with research in Dr. Elizabeth Gilbert’s laboratory. Her love of neuroendocrinology research transferred into a Graduate School career as she is now a first-year Ph.D. student working under the mentorship of Dr. Gilbert. During her Ph.D., her research will be focused on assessing neurochemical regulation of stress, appetite, and thermoregulation in broiler chickens in the presence of environmental factors. Reagan hopes to pursue a career in academia, aiming to become a research and teaching professor.

In her free time, Reagan enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, rock climbing, the beach, scuba diving, and spending time with her friends and family.
